FloDo was born out of a simple desire: to create more usable floor space in a home without sacrificing safety or style. The idea took root during a home renovation in Philadelphia, where the goal was to eliminate walls around the basement entrance and open up the area. The solution? A sleek, durable door built into the floor. With safety as a top priority, we reinforced it with aluminum and steel to ensure it could handle any challenge—even when entertaining the toughest guests. To make it practical, they added automation using repurposed parts from a local salvage yard. And just like that, the idea of FloDo was created—a smart, secure, and innovative way to maximize space.

What sizes are available?
Currently we have our largest FloDo providing access to basement spaces. We are also in the process of manufacturing a small and medium version of FloDo to accommodate the majority of our customer’s needs.
